1. (i) Mrs. Purnimaben Desai’s Presentation:
President welcomed members and introduced Mrs. Purnimaben Desai, (profile attached), also known as Karuna Reiki Master, a Certified Master REIKI Healer, who made a Zoom presentation on “REIKI- A Sacred Science.” He mentioned that a lecture on Reiki is organized for the first time and reminded viewers about her presentation to live audience on Kriya Yog about two and a half years ago.
Mrs. Desai acknowledged that although modern allopathic medicine cures patients, there are hundreds of other methods prevalent in India by which diseases can be cured. One of them is Reiki which is energy healing, a method developed by Japanese Mikao Usui, even though it was practiced in India in ancient times by Rishis based on Vedic principles of Hindu Science. Reiki was advanced in the U.S. by Mr. William Lee Rand and is taught in India by Dr. N.K.Sharma and Savita Sharma. Dr. Sharma’s aim is to make a million people aware of Reiki and his motto is Har Har Reiki, Ghar Ghar Reiki.
Reiki involves the transfer of universal energy from a certified master to clients some of whom claim to experience positive results of healing physical injury or emotional pain. The method involves placing hands on or slightly above the injured part when an energy transfer takes place. Mrs. Desai stated that the treatment can be given in person or to a person via distance healing. She elaborated on Sthul body and Suksm body which comprises of Pran energy (which protects against negative elements) and Manomaya (mental) energy.
Mrs. Desai discussed about levels 1, 2 and 3 of Reiki learning culminating in Grand Master level. Trio – Grand Master’s knowledge, faith and compliance with habits such as do’s and don’ts – is vital for transferring energy to patients. She mentioned that she measures aura and has healed through Reiki diseases such as thyroid, cholesterol and blockages. Reiki invokes energy from Guru and with the help of God, patient recovers provided he/she has faith, jettison ego and worries and have gratitude to all beings.
Mrs. Desai reiterated that doctors’ services are vital in life saving as reiki cannot cure since it can only heal, minimize, maintain and purify life which remove negative energy from seven Chakras. Reiki therapy involving systemic breathing can create hot or tingling sensation to patients. She conducted an interesting healing exercise on Zoom viewers, attempting to take them in trance, and eliciting varied experiences from them. She concluded that it’s necessary to grasp the reiki knowledge as a student, have faith in alternative medicine based on Ayurved and other Vaidic methods, remedies which exist in kitchens, and experiments.
Viewers applauded Mrs. Desai for explaining the basics of Reiki and appreciated her lecture in Gujarati and wealth of knowledge of the subject. She was gracious in sharing her cell number 646 472 9255 for viewers.
