PRESIDENT’S REPORT

                                               HAPPY THANKSGIVING 

Dear Friends:

The following is a brief report of the Center’s Sunday, November 22, 2020 Zoom meeting organized this week. The report is abbreviated as the meeting was recorded and promptly placed on YouTube by Jagdishbhai Patel, VP-PR. Thanks Jagdishbhai. 

The meeting started with a prayer by Mrs. kirtiben Shukla. 

1. Musical Program:

Sachin & Surabhi Dhomne’s  Sur Sangam orchestra entertained viewers (230 Zoom logins) with a two-hour program titled Ek Sham, Dosti Ke Naam, celebrating a keen friendship between two sponsors – Jagdishbhai & Sheilaben Patel and Mansukhabhai & Ranjanben Patel. Aroonbhai & Shobhanaben Shah co-sponsored the program celebrating their November birthdays. A PowerPoint presentation, prepared by Jyotindrabhai Patel, was displayed. Thanks Jyotindrabhai.

Singers kicked off with a Dhun धुन: श्री राम जय राम जय जलाराम and बोलो राम साइ राम बोलो हरि राधेशयाम  commemorating Jalarambapa (Janma Jayanti) and Sai Baba. Also chanted was a song of Lord Mahavir and Parshwanath कभी राम बनके कभी महावीर बनके चले आना and कभी राम बनके कभी पार्श्वनाथ बनके चले आना. Thereafter, the ensemble sang a number of songs including Pyar Diwana Hota Hai, Chahunga Main Tujhe Saanjh Savere,Ab To Hai Tumse Har Khushi Apni, Main Hoon Jhoom Jhoom, Janewalo Zara Mudke Dekho, Tere Jaisa Yaar Kahan, Gar Khuda Mujse Kahe, Sainath Tere Hazaron Haath, Halo Ne Virpur Jaiye Re, Bambai Se Aaya Mera Dost, Bane Chahe Dushman Zamana Hamara, Ye Dosti Hum Nahin Todenge, among others capping with a Sai Baba bhajan. 

Viewers celebrated birthday cake cutting ceremony of Aroonbhai & Shobhanaben. Also celebrated were members’ November birthdays and wedding anniversaries with gusto together with melodious songs by the ensemble. 

Viewers applauded Sur Sangam Group’s performance, aptly compered by Dr. Manoj Salpekar.

Kanpur Kalanidhi Group’s dance performance is planned on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 10:30am

(xv) Interfaith Program:

Temple Tikvah’s Annual Thanksgiving Interfaith program is planned on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 7:00pm.
