“Aging is not ‘lost youth’ but a new stage of opportunity and strength.”
What We Do
Prior to the pandemic, the Center organized bi-weekly programs for seniors throughout the year. With the onset of the pandemic, the Center has been having Zoom meetings every Thursday from 10:30am to 2:00pm with additional sponsored musical events on several Saturdays. The objective of frequent meetings is to provide a platform to aging seniors (some of them are octogenarians) to meet, greet and mingle with their peers and to avoid isolation at home. It is often said that inactivity and loneliness at home often invite mental degeneration leading to dementia, Alzheimer’s and depression. Since seniors are abuzz with multitude of activities throughout the year at the Center, they don’t feel that they are old but on the contrary feel themselves as young and engage in various voluntary works.
